Whenever We Touch Our Heads Together We Fall Backwardsby rooumComment by primabarbara: I wanted to be the frist to praise you for your skill with words but now Don was first! He's absolutely right - the titles are like cherries on the essay cake.
But even without that I would have been inspired by your pictures. Where are these buildings, who is or was living there, what are those objects for, why is this place abandoned? The overcast sky adds to the mysterious atmosphere.

TIDE-1by rooumComment by posthumous: every year I go to Maine and experience the most beautiful tide I've ever seen, and every year I fail to photograph it. But here you go showing that it can be done. you're making me feel uncomfortable. Please move over. |

TIDE-1by rooumComment by primabarbara: That is a really intriguing essay! All the shapes (is it frozen or just flowing water?) seem to be living creatures, I can see a stomach, snails, jellyfish...
I also can imagine the pictures combined in an elegant display in a doctors's office, where all the visitors would think they are MRI scans. Fascinating. We are lucky that you examined your surrounding mindfully so that we can take a look at it here |

TIDE-1by rooumComment by mbrutus2009: I looked through all of them. The textures are stunning. So much interest. So much to look for. So much going on, yet so pleasing to the eye. Beautiful series. |

End of December by rooumComment by MargaretNet: Originally posted by rooum: Originally posted by marnet: I feel sorry for her |
Oh, don't feel sorry for her Margaret, she's an incredibly happy child - always laughing and smiling. She doesn't like having her photo taken though so pretty much all my photos of her are when she's daydreaming and thinking or scowling at the camera which I think gives a bit of a skewed view of her. |
Is this your daughter?? That's different, you would have many opportunities to take photos of her in different moods, I thought it was one photo of a child from one of your weddings.
I will add that you are incredibly good at photos of the people. They are exceptional. |
