Which fire was this? The LaBrea fire (california) was burning about 25mi from here a week ago, and I thought there would be some drama to photograph there, but thought it better to stay out of the way.
Very nice shot. Sharp all over, even with the smoke.

If the shot was just the ribbons themselves I think it would be better. The frame, carpet and border dont add much to the shot in my opinion.

That's quite a collection you've got there!

There's a couple of things I don't like here. Firstly there's a strange red tint to the whole image. Second is the carpet / rug you have used as the backdrop. It doesn't add anything at all to the image and is just kinda in the way. Lastly is the angle, it's not quite straight on, but it's not really angled, it's just lingering in that 'in between' kinda area.
