Ironically, I think that if the cigarette was lit that would have worked well with the picture and idea . . . something about it being unlit gives an uneasy feeling of anticipation that smoking is about to BEGIN. Of course, that might be your whole point, to demonstrate the perpetual anticipation that accompanies addiction. I like.

I like the use of the shadows and the color-tone from the lighting. It adds to the sense of how old the objects are.
