Great subject and interesting choice of angles. Love the shadows too.

But personally, the most interesting part of the corkscrew is the actual spiral, and at this angle, I feel that, throwing the tip of the corkscrew [most interesting point] out of focus has lowered the interest level down a few bars. Perhaps from a difference angle to have a better overview of the contraption? =)

I like selective focus MOST times, but would have liked this better if the 'business end' of the corkscrew were in focus.

I would have rated higher if the actual corkscrew part was in focus instead of the handle. Overall, I like the shot.

Comment by Roseytone:
I think that the focus should have been on the screw thread or a graeter depth of field used.

The composition is great but the blurred foreground detracts for me.

I can never decide if I like an image like this with the front in focus or the back like this one. I this case though I think I would have liked it better if the front were focused and placed lower and toward the lower right corner to make the shadow on the left stand out better. Shadowing is really what would make this image outstanding. You might have had to give it a slightly wider angel to show the whole shadow.

cool angle, and nice use of light and shadows. the textured background doesn't do it for me - the right color for the mood of the picture - but the texture just distracts me (and i'm sure it's just me :) observation's aside. very cool pic.

Interesting Depth Of Field, might want to get more of the bit in focus otherwise looks great.
