Cadenby beekeeperComment by Teafran: Better use of the zone system and a little more competant exposure would have pumped this image up and given it some pop and character. The use of grain and the ever so slight greenish blue cast to the image isn't as effective as it could be given the softer style focus. More post processing using curves and the histogram as a guide would have helped this image significantly. From an artistic standpoint, it is a very effective image and candid portrait. |

Ocean Beach Pierby beekeeperComment by Teafran: More a image of lighting than a creative use of lighting. It's hard to rate this because of it's nature. It might have been a better approach to find a subject and then use the lighting to create the image rather than of the light itself. |

Spring Thawby beekeeperComment by davidw: This is a great location with a wonderful reflection. Its just too soft, dark and brown.
Use levels to turn the snow white, saturate the blue sky just a bit and sharpen overall. Just a guess, but is this a crop of a much larger shot?
It could also be better if you used the full 720 pixels allowed under advanced editing. |

Spring Thawby beekeeperComment by MrAkamai: Something about the color seems odd. At first it looks like it might be sepia but then I see traces of red/orange along the shoreline. Is it really this color? |
