OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Very unusual composition - I really like it! Everything hangs together here - the strange border-like viewfinder, the artefacts, to poor colour reproduction, the blur, the old looking horse and the headless dog. Most definitely more than the sum of its parts.

Critical stuff: Nothing really - it is what it is; any change would mean that it wouldn't be!

Overall: Quirky and deceptively well done.

Hey there from the Critique Club

My thoughts on the image: I am jealous of your location. There is nothing here in Atlanta that nears the beauty of what nature has created there. The colors are amazing and the flow of the mountains beautiful.

My ideas for improvement: While I am no HDR fan, I do think that this could have benefited from a little less exposure on the sky, along with a little more exposure on the land and mountains. Not to the point of the unnatural look of the typical HDR, but just a bit of tweaking in opposite directions.

Where I would have/did score this entry: I didn't vote on this challenge, but I would have tended to agree with the voters on this one. This would have fallen into the 5 range with me.

Thank you for the opportunity to provide a critique on your entry,
Eric

Hard to see Santa in the waterdrop. Good attempt at the technique though.

Nice capture. I maybe would have cropped more from the left side to have the Santa face central and the reflection in the drop a little larger.
