interesting. not sure i like the negative space at the top, or the close cut to the tail at the bottom - perhaps a different angle. texture is great, and so is the contrast.

I like your shot because it has emotion behind it while having good detail. I like the B&W you have used and the photo is technically sound. I think we need more photographs on this site that shows emotion not just technically sound photos with no meaning behind it. Good Shot!

Composition: 6, lines and curves are interesting. like the textures and the lighting
Technical: 5, wish the whole fish had been in focus. if you intended a shallow dof, fine, but i don't understand why you would do that.
Appeal: 5, i can take it or leave it. i can appreciate it for what it is and the way you've captured it, but, all the same, it's not anything i'd hang on my wall.
Challenge: 1, sorry, but you blew it here. i see nothing broken. dead, yes, broken, no.
