To understand this image as one of abandonment I'd have to weave an imaginative premise and background story. Or take your word for it. In any case I like the weirdness of the people smeared in front of the rudimentary doors. It's somehow mythic, but don't ask me to expand on that.

interesting take. i like the image, but am not really getting a sense of "abandoned". and the title could use some work (not that i'm an expert because mine usually suck.)

compositionally, may have been stronger if the walkers were a little more to the left.

I admire your courage, either in trying to photograph someone you care for while in this proximity to them riding in traffic or in you photographing a child you don't know. Part of me hopes this was just a random grab and not a setup shot because traffic is no place to be playing around. On the other hand, if you're in an urban environment, I'm quite sure there would have been plenty of other opportunities to photograph kids playing some type of game that could actually be considered 'sports'...
