I had always thought the Free Hugs movement started after the Boston Marathon massacre. But this photo was taken some months before that happened, so that's incorrect.

For me, back then I would walk through Times Square pretty often. I remember seeing this young man there regularly but only for about a year or so.
Hopefully elsewhere it lasted longer. Great idea.

Ah, the warmth. I've never quite understood the current expression I see sometimes - "this one has all the feels" - but I think this is what that expression means.
