I have no idea what that is (my first thought was a WWI gas mask) but it's quirkiness, the use of DoF, composition and lighting makes for a great photo. I like the title also - 8 come back to bump to a 9.

A new edit of an old shot. I'd only edited it in black and white before. This one is done with the new Nik HDR Efex software using the lovely 'Granny's Attic' filter.
