The Dancerby AliaaComment: What an exotic motif - love the movement and colour. But most of all I like his away-with-the-fairies smile.
Congrats on the HM |

As far as I know, the coloured glass baubles with glitter were invented by glass blowers from Lauscha, Thuringia, a federal state in the middle of Germany.
I own some quite nice ones too. My mother's friend is a glass painting artist and she made some for me with hibernal and Christmassy motifs. It's hard to reckognize - they are on the upper half of the tree. At the bottom there are only plastic baubles, since our cat loves to sit under the tree and to move the ornaments with his paw, so I don't want to risk glass cullet.

Christmas Explosionby KarenNfldComment: this is breathtaking!!! I love the perfect shape, the colours and the sharpness! I would have given you a 9 (a 10 if the tip of the lights were within the frame)
I tried something similar myself last year with our Christmas tree at home but it turned out lousy in comparison...maybe I'll post it nevertheless to keep this thread on the front page.
What a shame they don't put up the tree any more. What is the reason? The costs?
Where I live there is a nice Christmas tree at the city centre in front of the town hall. It's not spectacular, but it gives a nice atmosphere. Two years ago some vandals cut off the top at nighttime - two days before Christmas Eve. Isn't that a senseless and barbaric act? This caused a discussion if or if not the tree was set up next time. I'm glad the pro's were in a majority. |
