No parking anytime - Li Li Anna - Pell Hair Salon - and all that between morning and night with "Murmurs" as a title... all that reminds me of the movie "Bruce allmighty" when Bruce is overwhelmed by the multitude of whispered prayers. This essay is like a frozen moment betwen payer #24778 and 24782. The fact that a person was killed by a falling tree is another frozen moment which doesn't belong to you. Or us. Or anybody. Very strange thoughts, isn't it?
While watching this essay I feel like I'm entering your personal space and I want to apologize.

Marko,
before I start with my thoughts about your essay I want to tell you that I was in Chicago two times, in 1987 (when Sears Tower was the tallest building of the world) and in 1997 (the "bean" wasn't yet installed!) - both times in summer. Ahhh, memories...

It makes me happy to see your essay covering a whole visit to this amazing city, and above all you started with food! Tasteful! Your street shots are impressing, a wonderful variety of different situations well seen and recorded. I'm not familiar with Adobe Spark but it is fun to scroll with you through Chicago. Thanks for taking us with you.
Finally I'm nitpicking: I'd loved your essay even more if you stayed either colour or bw for one complete theme. F.e. color for food, architecture and pictures of Jen, b&w for street shots and pictures at the Bean. But that is only my personal taste.

I'm already looking forward to your next visit to a foreign place!

I wanted to be the frist to praise you for your skill with words but now Don was first! He's absolutely right - the titles are like cherries on the essay cake.
But even without that I would have been inspired by your pictures. Where are these buildings, who is or was living there, what are those objects for, why is this place abandoned? The overcast sky adds to the mysterious atmosphere.

Walking through your essay is like walking through the exhibition. First we get a general idea of what to expect in this art hall, then you show us more details step by step (at least that is how I felt). Your essay made me curious about Brancusi, had to get some more information immidiately
I like the patterns on the shiny surfaces, you place the reflections very clever, f.e. at #6 the reflection puts even more emphasis on the face and at #8 the ceiling forms hair... and I do love your own reflection as a human counterpoint to that metallic perfection

That is a really intriguing essay! All the shapes (is it frozen or just flowing water?) seem to be living creatures, I can see a stomach, snails, jellyfish...
I also can imagine the pictures combined in an elegant display in a doctors's office, where all the visitors would think they are MRI scans. Fascinating. We are lucky that you examined your surrounding mindfully so that we can take a look at it here
