Swish!by bobnospumComment: It's got a good motion to it, but the abstract connection is extremely thin. There's just a little too much anchorage in reality here. |

interstellar overdriveby CuttoothComment: Some nice energy and color play. I enjoy the sense of movement, but the crop leaves me a little wanting. This is desperately crying for more of a panoramic type view, but alas, DPC isn't the friendliest showcase for panoramic type shots, I know.
One thing I would have done is left out the title. It clues the viewer into what your subject is, and tends to ruin the abstract feel a little. |

Lava Lava Every whereby KBFishComment: I suppose the entropic value of the 'lava' in these lamps has an abstract element, but a simple recording of this isn't abstract in and of itself. The motion, as well, is not visible here, but only implied, and only if one knows that these things actually moved and aren't statically encased in some kind of plastic or glass. For my money, this simply doesn't adhere to the challenge theme. |

Whats Buzzing around!by csolomon1Comment: While the motion (the movement of the wings I presume) is present, it isn't an inherent part of the over-all photograph. Coupled with an almost complete lack of any abstract element, it simply doesn't work well enough for the challenge theme. |

The Shimmyby LadComment: A nice energy, but the color play is a little too forceful. There is no real coherent feel here (even an abstract should attempt to tell a story or bring cohesive interest together), so I'm left feeling a little lost and disinterested. |

Colored Trailsby andrewtComment: My problem with this shot is that while I know by experience that smoke has motion, this fact isn't conveyed well here. It also is, well, smoke, which isn't incredibly abstract in and of itself. Still, the abstract does exist in the inherent unknown of the geometry of pattern, and it's always interest to try and 'see' something in it, so to speak.
In the end, however, I just feel it falls too far into the realm of 'just another smoke photo'. |

Little Fish. Big Sea.by mindbottlingComment: I'm enjoying the energy here, but the title brings it down a little. The problem with abstracts being given titles is that you are forcing your idea on the viewer, where abstracts work best when the viewer is left to decide on their own.
Special Addition: Your photo was the proud recipient of my 1000th comment! Ok, maybe not so proud, but there you go :) |

Swish!by jodis_evaComment: The colors are pleasing here, but the sense of motion is a little too subtle for me. I can see the motion blur, but the overall sense of the photo is one of calm and passiveness. |

Bright Red Curvesby sfaliceComment: There's some nice light play, but the over-all feel is a little dull for me. I'm also not really feeling much of a sense of motion here. |
