Shreddedby KatmystiryComment: Nice use of shallow DOF. You've rendered a nice abstractive theme here, although the line of focus doesn't really stand out enough I think. Or perhaps it stands out too much. Either way, something about it unbalances things just that tiny bit. |

Swirlyby MaryOComment: Very nice use of a shallow DOF to render a common subject into a more abstractive work. Perhaps a little too much on the top, placing the focal subject too near the framing for my tastes, but nicely done otherwise. |

Eye Spyby BudyaComment: You've used minimalism to nice effect here. Personally, I'd have liked to have seen a stronger stretch effect on the circular object, rendering it more oblong and giving the piece a little more sense of movement. |

The Edgeby h2Comment: Although definitely abstract, and certianly shot extremely well on a technical level, there's a kind of generic feel about this shot that keeps me from giving this a higher score. There's also something about the lines that fight each other, rather than work together. I think, "I like this." but then I find I immediately follow it with, "but not that much." |

Number 1.jpgby karmatComment: What focus method were you using? It looks like it grabbed the shirt/hair instead of the face, which is why it has the soft feeling. This happens more often when you use a multi-point AF instead of a spot-focus method.
Having said that, this happens to me all the time. Cameras tend to hate getting eyes in focus when you're doing quick shots. :/ |

Horsesby StrikeslipComment: I had a feeling that whoever put this in was trying for a low score, but I didn't want to just assume that in my comment :P |

On Patrolby K3MasterComment: Huh. I kept this shot in thinking that it would be hard-pressed to get a 5+.
It got a 6. *scratches head*.
I should enter shots I hate more often. |

Eleganzaby h2Comment: I'm suprised this hasn't made yanko froth at the mouth yet. He was DQ'd for a very similar (if not practically identical) border. Which is why it was familiar to me. I thought this might have been from him, seeing if he'd get DQ'd again. |
