Sunset Kiss

Comment:
It was a kiss that defied a nation. It was a kiss that began a legend. In the Land of Shadow, a forbidden love showed that it could survive against all odds. She, a royal princess of the highest bloodlines. He, a poor and nondescript farm boy, badly in need of a haircut.

This is the story of the adventures they had.

Johnny was delighted when he opened his christmas present. It was a Colorform playset! Excitedly, Johnny stuck the Mustang piece onto the sunset background, and imagined he was a rich investment banker that had just embezzelled funds from his collapsing bank, speeding off into the unknown.

Johnny always was a strange one.

After trying out for the local dance troupe, Wanda realized that maybe this wasn't the actual casting agent. Suddenly, the idea to try out in the middle of the salt flats and the constant suggestion that it would be better without the clothes hit her. She wasn't going to be in Cats after all.

What did the one baker say to the other baker when he found out that his winning recipe called for flour-less baking?

"DOUGH!"

George the Maple was never able to get over the fact that he was the first one of his peer group to start to change. His parents always told him that it would happen one day, but to be the only one in his lawn to grow Red there was an embarrassment in the locker room. It didn't help that he knew everyone would go through it eventually.

Years later, his revenge was sweet, as the leaves began to fall, and he was one of the last to lose them.

She awoke slowly, her vision blurred, her senses dulled. As things became more clear, she glanced around her. She tried to move her arms, then legs, but nothing was there. Try as she might the limbs that were once as much a part of her as anything wouldn't respond. It was then that she glanced down. She blinked. A part of her could not, would not, believe what she was seeing, but slowly the realization dawned. It was a reflection, and she... was not she anymore.

Pippi Longstocking closed her eyes and laughed. It was a new life, in a new form, and really it was all she could do.

It was a less famous moment, the invention of the lighthouse that cast light everywhere... except for out to sea.

Foggy Morning

Comment:
They silently paddled toward the boggy island, knowing their search could finally be over. It had been weeks since they began, and they'd traced the source of their search here. This small, uninhabitable tract of land in the middle of a distant lake. They slowly approached, every sense on alert, as they landed the canoe. Did they have it cornered, or had it cornered them?

A sudden rush of noise to the left, a shot fired in panic, the coming apart of rational thought.

Years later, the skeletal remains of the canoe was happened upon by a working crew. The bones were found shortly after. A family of squirrels the only life to be seen.

Sally simply didn't understand that the wall of gum didn't mean "Wall of Gum to take and chew".
