Love the colors and the perspective. I have mixed feelings about the arc shadows towards the front. They're somehow distracting, even though the arches all the way down are terrific. The bottom area is also a bit overexposed, but there is something very compelling about this shot.

Winter Day Begins

Magnificent shot. If voters are into landscapes for this challenge, this should place in the top 10. Wonderful thirds, opposites (soft clouds, hard pier), shapes (opposing triangle-like shapes in the clouds and pier), and the perfectly counterpointed sun and person. Superbly done. The only detraction for me are the reflected light specks on the pier below the sun. Although the color works, and it helps define the edge, they look added, or fake somehow.
