What traffic?by Yo_SpiffComment: Sorry to say but the trite title contradicts the visual impact of his image. A bad title can pollute the viewer's impression of the image itself so better no title at all. Everything else about this shot nears technical perfection and the emotional content transcends the commonality of such a prosaic location. One powerful ingredient: the low pov that gives the bike rider a wonderfully heroic stature. Others: the shadows, the beautifully captured atmospheric perspective, the bare trees, the distant cityscape - blend to give us the sense of the solitude and remoteness of the rider and his perseverance to keep going where he has to go. bump |
