A more conventional eye (such as mine) would not have cut off the lower right piece so brazenly, but in the final analysis it makes the shot by effectively amplifying the instability generated by the tumbling tiles.

Such a delightful sight in glowing black & white. The face is everything and the image could be even stronger without the extra detail of the hat - I suggest cropping down to the bill of the hat. Those eyes are enhanced on the thirds line. Try it. 8

Striking by any standard. But I'll try to articulate why: the stance in particular grabs my attention as if he is calling for it. The atmosphere is compelling as it fills the air with weather and overlays the image with texture and of course, snow. One of the best wildlife shots here on dpc. 8
