The Ortonesque effect here works effectively as a glaze to smoothly blend the background and foreground elements of the composition. Said another way: the melding of the man and his city.

The bird competes in a losing battle with the brightly lighted cacti. The bird is good and would be much better without the right half of the frame.

Love the tattoo and underexploited canvass of skin. I feel some very sensitively applied edginess as a twist to the more conventional pinup pic.

Crop off the left to the second pole and you have a very powerful shot. As is, diluted by the excess on the left. I wanted to give a 7 but couldn't for the aforesaid reason.
