BAH! I was going to do a shot like this but the weather prevented it! Even so, great capture. The DoF is really neat, especially the way that the little flowers all over in the grass show up.

I'm usually not too big on portraits but I really like this one. Theslightly tilted framing and the poignant face on the youngster's face are great. Definitely looks great in BW.

I really like the darkness with the nice smooth bokeh. It contrasts very nicely with the much lighter subject matter.

Georgia O'Keefe meets Iron Butterfly video! Haha. Like the use of the negative here though... it's rather psychadelic but not overly so, and the muted colors add a nice aged look to the scene.

Methinks the books may be Harry Potter? Ironic with the cross if that is the case! I agree about the sharpening/contrast increase to bring out the depth of the design on the cross. Gaussian blur the background maybe to make the colors meld a bit more maybe? Also, I too am hating the web conversion! It's my bane.

I'm not really sure if I like the cropped version more or not... I like both versions for different reasons. I like the "look closer" aspect of the first and the detail of the second. All in all, nice gray hairstreak pic!

I agree with repositioning the globe a bit...wehrmacher's suggestion I like...making it look like an aura. There appears to be a slight halo effect around the actual figurine from sharpening though.

Car Keys @100mm - Day 01

Several folks commented on dropping the keys... I think that a picture of you dropping the keys in the photo would have added even more to the "relaxing forget all the stress beach" approach, which I think goes well with the whole concept of vacation. Faster shutter would be needed but I think you could've managed it well since your DoF wasn't terribly deep and your ISO was nice and low. Really like the way the water is framed by the hand/keys/legs though.

I really like this photo...except for the bottom right portion. I guess I just wish that the neat texturing would extend throughout the whole frame.
