You've just got too contrasty a scene here to attempt to get a normal type of exposure (not embracing the super contrast). I'd consider almost like a low key style, high contrast. The colors are washed out from the direct sunlight, so I'd go BW instead, as well. Crop a bit off the right, it seems to be awkwardly placed for some reason. Here's what I mean (all basic legal).

This is a superb photo. The way the depth of field is situated, it really makes this quite interesting to look at. The leaf's veins are only discernible in such a small area, and melt away in all the rest, as the leaf does in the top of the frame, like a pinwheel of sorts. Very cool.

Greetings fellow CC member!
So first things first: Your shot meets the challenge well, with a number of different black objects. You̢۪ve also got a variety of shades of black, which I think really is really good. Regarding the variety of hues, however, I think that things might be improved a bit by lowering the exposure just a tad to make the shadows and crenulations on the coat more prominent. I̢۪m also left wanting to see the bottom of the hand and the cuff. This is rather minor though, and what probably is the most distracting to me is the blurring on the backside of the hand, as noted by others. I like the shot though, and also that it isn̢۪t a complete studio stock shot, which are fine, but I enjoy some variety as well.

That scrollwheel IS rather odd looking. How deep is the body? It looks surprisingly small to me.

There is something really peculiar about this photo... it appears to be moving. Odd sensation, but I really like it.

Still really like your fish fence, creeping along and beaching itself. har har.
Really a great shot though, all terrible humor aside.
