icecold1980Comment: I am still confused as to how this got disqualified. More specifically, I'm upset with the disqualification reasons. Nothing was added to the image or the border. This was shot in RAW (CR2) format. The picture is a sculpture (a very interesting one!) from Laumeier Sculpture Park, in Kirkwood, MO.
1.) Imported into Digital Photo Professional 3.8
2.) Changed picture style to landscape
3.) Brought in the left side of the histogram to the end of the shadow data
4.) Changed the levels curve from a cubic one, to a linear one (the most apparent effect)
5.) Changed the angle and cropped with the trimming and angle adjustment tool
6.) Added a marble-like border (one of the default patterns) with GIMP.
I'm sorry the moderators thought this was an invalid submission, but those were, in fact, the steps taken for my final submission. Attempt to replicate it if you wish; it is very doable in a matter of minutes. No, this will not stop me from participating in future challenges. I think it is a great way to exercise creativity. I am just venting...
