Maggie leaningby jeffzoetComment: Great composition of such a simple subject. Fantastic use of posing with the shadow following the line of her legs. Just a great use of space to underscore the shadows, curves and angles in this. Sensual and tastefully done to boot. |

Maggie in doorwayby jeffzoetComment: Its just the least bit hot in the hallway but I love the lines; the femininity and how you've accentuated it in the doorway. Lovely |

cherene001.jpgby GreenGiantComment: And I can see why you ask her to pose.
Very nice DoF. Clear eyes and I like the angles you incorporate between your angle of approach and the angle she is turned. |

BDDS2523 - small.jpgby KevinRiggsComment: Yeah, I didn't get as much of the effect as I wanted. I think I either need something wider than the 17mm or I needed to get closer to her. As it ws I couldn't have been more than a couple of feet away from her but its at least getting there.
Thx |

CRW_6233-sepiaby NusbaumComment: Well, I think here is where I would rather see more of one thing or another. I love the definition that's in the shot but I wish that if you were going to preserve the range that I see in the tones you'd toss a little blur at it and create more of a hazy, dreamy effect. It looks like you might have been a couple of steps farther away and thus produced a slightly deeper DoF on this shot; then again it may be the angle she's standing at. Either way, without a hazy effect this is the type of shot where I'd like to see those solid black tones take over more of the image than they currently have so that the lighter tones almost feel like they are coming sneaking out of them.
On a different tack, I love the treatment you applied here. |

CRW_5935-qtby NusbaumComment: Great DoF. Doesn't look like you processed the skin at all; now I'm wondering if you did anything to it. The cooler hues seem to lend themselves well to the fabric but I'm not sure that I like it with her skin. Great definition in her hair and eyes. I like the crop as the portrait orientation confuddles the angle of her gaze. |

CRW_5965-sepiaby NusbaumComment: David,
I like the elements you mentioned in this one, too. What do you think about maybe cropping it even tighter. Since you've already gotten into her hands and head what about bringing the left & right sides in a little more and pulling the bottom up a little to try and maintain a roughly square shape. Her look and left eye are strong on this shot. I love the clarity you got especially with the shadows and strands of hair. |
