California Dreamin'by HipychikComment: Wow, that is a lot of noise. It works well to give the effect of the barren wind swift sandy area. Visable halos around the fence posts. |

An alternative landscapeby Rino63Comment: I like the right hand third of this. The blue wall and the blue boat really works well. It is a frame within a frame. As far as the whole picture, the juxtoposition of the left half and the right half does not work for me. |

Horsin' Around ... Rollin' in the Sandboxby LydiaComment: Nice composition with the horse in the lower area and the railing framing the top area. The spays of sand really stand out. Perhaps a slightly narrower DOF so the brush behind the fence would have more blur. |

Sand bug artistry2by naturestarsComment: I like it with it's zen appeal. The shadowed curves add a lot to the image. The focus seems to be a little soft. |

Swimmer's Paradiseby andrewtComment: I like how all the differnt elements balance each other. Nice contrast between the blues and greens. Focus seems a bit off or perhaps it is oversharpend. |

goggledogsby MichaelCComment: Cool sky with all the muted colors. Composition works well with the dogs. Tilted horizon detracts a bit. The googles add a point of color but not sure they really add much else. |

Love is like sand in our handsby the99Comment: Nice composition wiht the sand flowing down like that. The noisy/grainy approach kind of works for me here. The tones are a little bland with all the grays. Maybe different lighting would have given you blacker blacks and whiter whites. |

Prairie Dog Diggin' Inby xerophyteComment: That is surely in your face. I like all the sand on his nose and whiskers. The exteme close-up and centered compostion are perhaps a bit much. Usually the eyes are key to a portrait and his a black and featureless. |

Lake Bed.by DianaComment: Nice curves around the lake bed and in the "U" in the tree line. Very flat color-wise with all dull tones, except the tiny red and green objects. Much of the photo is filled with a featureless sky, which makes the compostition kind of static. |
