Lieutenant Tomby QuigleyComment: Interesting Portrait, problem is we see where he has been, not where he is going/looking. The later is much more interesting. I do give you a point for using the bush to provide a close backdrop. If you had instead Done a light blur that would have worked as well, even if you didn't have the DOF figured correctly. you may want to experiment with single spot focus since this has a snap-shotty feel. I also thank you for shooting this from lower, rather than at head height looking down. |

The Blue Angelsby BalkoComment: GO NAVY! but then again I'm biased. Looks like they are doing the medium show. That is never a bad thing when it comes to taking pictures of them. The low show usually only gets done during heavy overcast and haze conditions, which stink for awesome and crisp shots. not to mention having them blocked by things like power lines and whatnot. |

Beavertail Lighthouseby sysopComment: the reflection of the sky in the water rather than the building was the right choice. Just enough is there to give perspective on what you are seeing. The texture of the ground provides a welcome contrast to the sky and the lighthouse is a nice intermediate shape. I'd pick this as a ribbon contender. |

No Bugsby Jason_CrossComment: great placement and color. proper use of DOF . The missing areas will give some people a hard time, but the flower is really complete. |

Lewis River Fallsby ace flymanComment: This is a nice photo, the line of the log leads you back to the top of the falls so your vision can then flow back down with the next stream of water. an easy 10. |

Wells Quayside in the Eveningby SoulMan1978Comment: Neat. How do the keep the sailboats from tipping over when the tide goes out? I love the colors of the boats too. The one in the foreground could almost have been built out of Legos. |

Birds of a Featherby SheryllComment: I know gulls don't cooperate with photographers, this technique would look excellent if about 70% of the gulls below the horizon could have been cloned out. It is just too busy there. |

Doveby sarrobiComment: The border is a nice offset for this photo, it makes it more like looking out a window. |
