Desolate for Milesby Chilly0999Comment: Intriguing sky and a quite desolate looking scene - although it's bordering on being just too rural and cultivated to feel abandoned or barren. [5] |

All that's left...by WILDBLUEComment: Nice shot and composition, but desolation isn't it. Good tones and lighting too. A reluctant [4]. |

Desolatedby NazgulComment: Looks like he's just stepped out of a BMW - he's so clean and cool! I love the textures but the set-up doesn't wash with me. If this was a genuine candid shot then maybe an [8], but this gets a [4] from me. |

Abandonedby JackoComment: Isolation - yes. Desolation - no. Nice shot (but border is no help) with good composition. [3] |

when you are stuck in the past ...by sainazComment: Looks like she's had a bust up with not only the boyfriend but an entire county!! Set up must have taken some collating afterwards. The shot is a bit staged and lacking in tonal range, contrast and crispness which renders the cliché a bit ineffectual. [3] |

Home Sweet Homeby JBosieComment: Like the lighting and idea for this shot. A good take on challenge. Focus could have been sharper on subject or by using an item in the forground the focus could have been softer on subject making the lonely predicament even more enhanced. [5] |

Lonesomeby ArtifactsComment: This does capture desolation for me. Very well-taken shot - you\'ve chosen the right time of day and a great viewpoint. Good luck - should do well. [9] |

Industrial Revolutionby crabappl3Comment: This is derelict but not quite desolation for me. A great shot with gorgeous tones and rich textures. I would have cropped out the very top roof line - leaving the shadow of it. A reluctant [8] |

In It's Day...by rwinburnComment: Lose the border! Shack looks a bit derelict but this is not desolation for me. Contrast is light, focus is soft, and there is not much to hold my interest in the shot. [4] |

Lost Soulby katlynComment: Border overwhelms this shot, which is too soft and lacking in context or involvement with the subject to communicate desolation. [3] |
