Morning Paperby xianartComment: Ooh, yes - that's making me really hungry for erm, a breakfast sausage.
And talking of paper (as you have) - I hope you didn't run out before sitting down...

eluding the sunby boysetsfireComment: Lovely catch - really love that subsurface scattering in the water (sorry, I'm a 3D artist!). You've done well to catch the sense of morning too without being really blatant with it. Good luck, but you don't need it anyway - your pic's fantastic, scoring well or not. |

The A.M. Ritualby sherpetComment: Bizarre and very different. Really, one of the most odd pics I've seen on the site - quite unforgettable.
But, I really wish you hadn't treated this so much with NeatImage and Shad/Highlite, etc. This would be a classic if it was left desaturated slightly with strong contrast (and definitely no sepia). This is real life I assume, so why the nostalgic treatment? It should be gritty, grainy and left to tell its own story without fear of 'downgrading' by shallow voters.
I'll vote high for choice of subject regardless of my dislike of the processing.

Valley Mist, Morning Light by FalcComment: A wondrous view - the land up close looks a little too light compared to mid-ground, but it's a nit-pick. A hot air ballon floating above those clouds would wrap this up for sure!

A Peaceful Momentby ace flymanComment: What a great scene slighthly spoiled some heavy-handed processing. It's OK to leave a photo with its normal colouration, honestly - go on, buck a trend!
You have a lovely subject wherever this is though.

Dawnby John WhiteComment: There appears top be a bit of a trend for 'pinking' shots at the moment which is a shame because it makes the photo quite gimmicky. Your composition here is a little too bland and leaves little space for evocative thought due to it all being filled with the boat. A more sky-weighted composition, with a crop on the left side would help perhaps.
