Comment:
The picture speaks for itself here and I find the title too verbose and overtly religious/patriotic - although I share the sentiment of gratitude for freedom.

It's a crisp, colourful shot. The flagpole is a bit intrusive at the top, but it's very strong nonetheless.

Well lit inside the hands but a bit too gloomy outside. The background to the right does nothing for the composition in my view and this may well have been improved by cropping tight and making it portrait.

Cute little fella, but the shot is just too indistinct in the shadowed areas. Loss of DOF in the nose area is a shame.

The crop is a bit awkward towards the bottom too. I would have gone portrait with this, cropped off the right side and filled the frame with pooch.

He's a good-looking, happy boy, so I can see why you'd be grateful.

It's a nice, mellow shot too but I would have cropped to the edge of his face on the right too and fully filled the frame, as there is no need for any space at all when you're this close up.

This is a good moody shot - but too much foreground for me. There are some busy elements too - the birds, clutter of people, smoke plume, branches - which actually serve to distract from the image despite, in themselves, being quite emotive subjects.

A beautiful scene and I can see why you wanted to be thankful for it! ;)

Yes, I think it does add an emotive element that is absent in the original. Thanks.

Nice idea. Good DOF and composition, but I think the glare at the top's a bit annoying, so I'd have cropped it out at the expense of the extra context.

This is super-smooth and beautifully focused. Great shot. Whatever post-processing was done is extremely tasteful.

Stunning image - and a totally deserving win. This is rich, sumptuous in colour, beautifully composed and emotive perfection.
