This is a lovely study. It actually looks very strong when cropped right and top (losing the ear and top of head to just above the window frame). It helps to make the eye focus on his expression rather than the distraction of the items in the background. Try looking at the areas that would be cropped out in isolation - they're not very interesting or helpful to the composition.

This is noisy but I like it more than most. It has a refreshing, gritty, voyeuristic quality about it despite the subject being central, etc.

Super-smooth tones a la NeatImage perhaps? Although this kind of waiting is very cliche, this is a beautiful shot and will doubtless rate very highly.
