This is a fairly goos concept but the shot does not grab me otherwise. Yes, the magazine makes her face but why? What else is there going on and there has been little other creative input to the shot beyond the use of the prop. The background is dull and this ultimately looks like a humourous snapshot. Sorry not to be more positive.

A powerful look and a strong portrait. Hair is a bit over-swept but she's lovely and her eyes pierce the subdued tones nicely. Memorable shot and well composed (and so it should be!!).

Film Noir Gun Girl

This is competent, but too soft for me. She's pretty but the pose is a bit awkward - the gun slices through her shoulder severing the continuity of her form. Other than that I'm not sure what to be thinking unless I refer to the title. You've kind of achieved your aim with that film noir look but she does look a modern-day girl, and it's still not quite creative or perfect enough.

Good lighting, subject's a bit uninteresting though. If you like flowers then this is always going to appeal, but I'm looking for creaativity in this challenge and I don't see very much beyond your lighting.

Background is quite distracting.
