Great capture. Neat action. I'm not sure about the desat though. Normally this would be used to draw attention to the subject in some way but this leads me away from it. If you're keen to keep it I'd edit out the other blue and leave just the boarder.

Nice scene, but this image is heavily compressed. Was the JPEG setting low? You may also want to try adjusting this shot using levels which will deepen the contrast and add gravitas.

That's a lovely observation and I like the cross-frame composition too. Background is a little busy, but it does show context. Did you take any from different angles? Blue sky can be very effective againast a subject like this.
