A nice choice of flowers to show in this life and death challenge.
The focus is not on the right part of the flower, it should be on the front part, what i can see of what is in focus is good details and colour.
Moving to a different angle would have helped with this shot. Your background is a nice buttery soft green, which is good.
If this plant is still around, take this shot again, because it would be worth it as it is excellent |

What would you like me to say about this shot.
It is outstanding. I can not see anything that could have been done differently. your HDR is not overdone, you are sharp, crisp, clean, excellent saturations, cool tones.
Bravo! | Photographer found comment helpful. |

I like this shot, I like the fact that the water isn't the soft flowing water, this shot is real to me.
There is a tiny bit of grain in the sky, the colours are saturated nicely, your subject is well defined. It does seem to be a little over sharpened and maybe a bit of a crop at the top would be nice.
But bar that, a lovely image, well done |

Great shot, I love it.
I am not sure why this placed where it did, i really do think it is a good shot. The background is a little too much, I would have cropped it a little closer to the top of the mushroom. Your slug is hilarious! You may be a tiny bit over sharpened as you have halos around the black bits on top of the mushroom, but it brings out the underside perfectly /
Maybe a little dodge and burn on the underside would have separated it a little more and some on the leaves. But honestly I can not see much wrong with this shot, I really like it

That would be a female mallard, nice birds.
Your focus is not so sharp on the bird, the focus seem to be on the plank of wood just in front of her. A tighter L crop right up to her tail may have helped with this shot. Play around with zooming in and out with your camera. in post processing some sharpening would have gone a long way with this, play around with the brightness shadow and curves and see if that doesn't add to this shot too

Fabulous title you have there fits teh shot very well.
I think a little more of a crop at the bottom would have made the water pop out a bit more, you have some fabulous cuvey lines going on there and would have been nice to see then some more. You do have some grain going on here and some tight halos around the mountain tops.
In post processing, a tip that I worked out is that before you turn it into black and white, is to play around with the saturations, selective colours , curves and brightness contrast. then turn it into black and white, you will be amazed at what a difference it makes to your details.
I bet this is an amazing place to see

Fabulous shot.
I am not sure why you only got this placement it is a pleasure to look at.
One of the things that I did notice is that the eyes could have been a little brighter, in a portrait, the eyes are the core to the image. In post processing just bring those eyes out with a tiny bit of dodging and burning. Your crop on your left hand side is a little tight, allow a little more space there.
Over all , excellent photograph it was a pleasure to study it |
| 08/17/2009 06:24:45 PM | "Mixing" Cooking Oil and Dark Soya Sauceby CheerzComment: Hi from the C Club!
I like that you used the term Soya versus Soy sauce. In the UK and in the USA soy sauce is more commenly known versus the Soya sauce of the Commonwealth.
Your shot is interesting, unless I knew that this challenge was about oil and that you had written soya in your title I would never have guessed what this was. It looks like a macro of something amazing.
That being said, it is a little dark, maybe in post processing you could have used the exposure to lighten it up a little or even brightness contrast. The soya has made a great glob right in the middle of your picture. Maybe have your plate of oil and a drop of soya sauce in a corner then mix it up to give you the rule of thirds.
Your sharpness is spot on and clarity is good. Do remember that you can have up to 200k in Advanced editing and 720 on one side.

Well not sure what you want me to say about this stunning image. It is excellent.
The only nitpick I have is the yellow arrow, when I saw it, I my eye wouldn't stop looking at it. Your horizon is a tiny bit tilted but I think you wanted it that way,
A perfect piece of Photojournalism. Well done | Photographer found comment helpful. |
