Hi from the Critique Club,

You asked for your shot to have an in depth comment from a member of the Critique Club.

this is a really nice shot, i like how all the colours compliment each other. The one thing that I think is hurting this shot is the crop, crop out the brown table to give it more of a flow versus two parts of a shot. having the second earring at an angle towards the center would have given this more drama. Aldo a little sharper on the main focus earring would have been good too.

Nice shot!

Hi from the C Club

I am sitting here giggling!!!

She looks like she is a ton of fun, really I am giggling when I see this shot, the look in her eyes is priceless.

This is one of those photos that is hard to critique as there is not a lot I can suggest. Your sharpness is great, your colours are brilliant, your POV is hilarious, DOF is spot on.

I love it, well done!

There is not a lot to say about this shot, it is a really nice one.

The border is definitely taking away from the shot though as this is brighter than anything else in the shot. You have lovely details in the flower and the bokeh is very creamy and buttery making a warm glow.

There is nothing wrong with this shot at all and I can see it hanging in a nursery!

This a very good shot, one of your best.

I think what is hurting this shot is the darkness of the monkey and the lack of sharpness on the monkey. And to be honest, that is all that is hurting this shot. .

IT is an interesting one, the background is amazing, the capture of the monkey is unique.

Do this more often!!!!!!!!!

This is a wonderfully clever shot. This could be so many different things. When I first looked at it I thought it was a the sea, a jut of land and then sky.

I think that there is some things that you could do in post processing. Unsharp mask just to bring out some details. Shadow and highlight, again for details. Then it is time to play around with the hue and saturations, selective colours. A lot of details could be brought out with just a few minor tweaks.

The more I look and study this shot the more I like it , well done

I do not think that this is going to be a very in depth comment as there is not a lot to comment on.

Gorgeous!!!!!!!!

I gave this an 8 in voting and here are the reasons why it was not a 10. The size of the shot is fairly small, remember you can go up to 640 on one side in basic. And that was the only reason

This is a wonderful shot, your processing is fantastic.

Well done

An interesting shot and description, on DPC you learn something new every day!

There is something about this shot, that feels odd. I believe for me it is the burnt out matches. The burnt out matches are brilliant, but it almost seems as though they where very over sharpened and you have halos around them. They are almost disconnected from picture. I am not sure if this was caused by the sharpening or if it is the white background.

Talking of white backgrounds, you flame is almost lost within the background, but in saying that if you chose a black one then the burnt out ones would not show.

I think that this is and was a very hard subject to photograph and I think you did amazingly well with it.

Lovely shot and the rule of thirds is bang on.

I think what is hurting this shot is the colour cast that you used. The sea probably is that colour from all the sand being churned up from the hurricane, but most people expect to see a lovely blue colour, I am loving the sepia tone of the water, reminds me of England.

So I think that having some blue would have helped here, so leaving the sky blue or going completely different and having this as a black and white would have helped.

Maybe a touch of contrast would have helped as well, you have very dramtic white horses (swell) going on and playing around with the selective colors would have brought out depth in them.

Great shot

I love storms and the dark clouds, so dramatic. You read the challenge description and you are using light in a way to make a dramatic photo.

Unfortunetly, the focus is off. Try as fast shutter speed. I like the blown out piece of the shy i think it gives it definition. in post processing, try using shadows and highlights , exposure, to bring the contrast into proper contention.
