Seascape with boatsby Rino63Comment: Hi from the Critique Club

Lovely shot, i really like it.
The comments that you have received pretty much tell you all you need to know with this shot. A fast shutter speed would maybe illuminate the blurry boats. A little more saturation or selective colour would have given your colours some more depth. You have some in camera splotches in the top left corner that you could clone in in Advanced editing.
Overall a pretty shot, well done |

this is a very clean cut shot. your sharpness is spot on, clarity is good, DOF and POV are very good. IT just does not look HDR and that is really the only problem you have going on here.
The other shot that you put up, is 100% better than this shot in every way. You have the action, the dodge and burn is excellent and the POV is outstanding. But most importantly it does look HDR.

Lake Fog at Sunrise by hahn23Comment: Very well deserved of this high score, you have shown the world that HDR is not what most people think and that it can be smooth and pleasing to the eye. Very well done indeed Sir |

In the Countryby vladoComment: Hi from the Critique Club

I gave this a 5 when it was in voting, here are the reasons why. With this being a Heida challenge, I expected a little more punch to the photograph. Moving closer to the tree, so that was the focal point. Instead I find my eye travelling all over the page.
A little more sharpness and boost in colours would have gone a long way too. Funnily enough, you used every single bit of the 720, but I am finding it too large. So maybe chopping off the bottom of the shot so it is closer to the tree would have helped with this.
this is a lovely landscape shot |

I really liked this shot and gave it high score in the challenge
This reeks of 1940-50's with the lipstick, very simple and clean.
There is not a lot I can say that could improve this shot, maybe, just maybe saturating the eyes and a tiny bit of dodge and burn before turning this to black and white would have given the eyes some more depth.
But this is a fabulous shot |

I thought that this shot was totally adorable. I gave this a 6 when voting and this is why.
You have every element going on here, your sharpness, POV, clarity is outstanding. The thing that totally killed it for me was the flower. If the flower had not been in there it would have been a straight 9-10.
I love the fact that the person was clearly seen, but it was a challenge to see if you could hide this person, which , in a way, was done, but not hidden enough for DPC
I think that the set up on this shot was excellent and this is a picture that anyone would love to hang on their wall.
