i like the tones and the overall composition but i think is lacking some crispness on the feather itself to contrast with the background

The haloing around the bodies is in the original unedited version as well. The BW just emphasises it. It's just a point an shot camera...
I struggled to get rid of it and there is no extra sharpen applied.
