One of the better shots I've seen of this landmark, great silhouettes.

Attention to detail starts with the title... I'm sure you've had lots of comments already about that already but it's important to musicians. Some strange textures here like NeatImage gone wrong.

Hopefully your time at DPC will improve your photography from basic snaps to more accomplished portraits...
this snap is underexposed and onboard flash has given a very unflattering shadow which is most evident behind his mouth, nose and eyes. Choosing blue as a duotone gives an emotionally cold effect which doesn't suit this image. Composition doesn't seem to have been thought about, he would have worked better on the right hand edge of the frame. You've chopped off some of his hands which he's concentrating so hard on. The marks on the background are distracting.

You've captured a fantastic expression but it looks like a lucky capture for an amateur rather than a professional shot, here's why:
You've not made the most of the composition... this would have real impact if the dog was on the right hand of the frame with loads of negative space in the rest of the frame.
Highlights are burnt out on the dog's fur.
The background is way too similar in texture and colour to the dog which makes this photo lose a lot of it's potential power.
But your timing really is superb here.

I like the way you used mostly the red channel to make the clouds stand out, what a lovely sky. Boat seems a bit boring though, and a little too near the centre of the frame to make this feel dynamic. I'd have thought about zooming out, getting loads more sky and put the boat right at the edge of the frame.

Wow, great abstract. It's the top half of the photo that really makes this work. Not quite sure that the exact duotone you chose has complemented this, but the composition has worked well. Not sure about your burnt out highlights at the bottom.

Comment:
The silhouettes aren't striking and simple enough for this to have real impact. The foreground takes up quite a bit of the shot, and the shadow detail isn't interesting enough to keep my attention. Compositionally a bit bleh, but when you find the right tree this would be a great shot. Just leave more of the foreground out.
