Lifeby studio1graphicsComment: Oh dear, I loved the thumbnail of this, but where has this huge border come from? Totally unnecessary, and has resulted in losing 2 points from me. The photo is much too small now. 6 |

We Are Stardust; We Are Golden.by space amoebaComment: Nice abstract. Even without the title, this communicates life to me. I think on a deeper level it can represent the fertilisation of an (cosmic) egg. Shame about the dirt/ specks/ marks on the glass(?) near the light. 7 |

Is there ....by jeeptuningComment: Perhaps this is being picky, but I can't think of anything more lifeless and barren than the moon. Nice shot though! 4 |

In The Beginningby jmsetzlerComment: VERY interesting... shame about the glare from the marble. Makes me ponder a lot, this one. Great lighting, wonderful concept. I'd have perhaps liked a blue/green marble. A good take on the challenge. 8 |

Brand New Lifeby channeledComment: WOW!
Congrats on your new arrival, what an amazing photo.
The skin is so smooth... not having seen a newborn, did it really look like this, or is this the result of NeatImage?
The composition doesn't give me enough of a wow factor for a 10, but then I'm not sure photography would have been my first concern in your position. 8 |

Is Living Such a Blur?by BeagleboyComment: I hate to be mean, but I've seen this setup on DPC quite a few times now, and it's starting to become pretty unoriginal. The advice seems to be to overexpose a few stops when shooting white paper, so your text stands out better and the contrast is improved. The particular text used for this challenge is a nice touch though. Perhaps you could have used these printed words from a different viewing angle, or doing something different with the paper? I think it's a shame that there's a space around the word 'LIVING?', I'd have prefered the rest of the text right up to it, perhaps 'LIVING?' could have been in another colour. 5 |

Polution signby sweetnsourgeoffComment: Attention to detail may have helped you here:
1: Spelling.
2: Straighten your horizon.
3: Your picture is WAY too small. Ask in the forums for help on submitting a decent sized image.
This may have been an interesting picture otherwise, but it's hard to tell. 4 |

The Good Lifeby ashadisComment: Adorable portrait, but doesn't say anything profound about life to me, other than it's messy. 5 |

Life Is A Blur On The Road Of The Universeby xhossComment: Wow, I could spend ages trying to get my head around that analogy. But I'll stop before my head hurts. Interesting pic, but I think the composition lets it down. I can't decide if your moon needs to be more centred, it's placement doesn't look deliberate. And I can't decide if you were using the silhouetted trees as part of your composition. 6 |

It's a Dog's Lifeby Sherry MarchComment: Lovely portrait, it's a shame the background isn't more photogenic though. I feel that there isn't enough contrast between the dog and the background, and the stray compositional elements at the top (the grass and object at top left) detract from the shot. The woman's skin tone seems a bit underexposed to me... I'd have been tempted to correct this with a curves adjustment in Photoshop. 6 |
