Aloft by BradComment: Superb b&w, works very well with this sky. Great detail and sharpness. The composition is a little too cluttered for me to give this top marks though. 8 |

Awakeningby kirbicComment: Breathtaking... I wish I was an early person so I at least had a chance of ever capturing a photo like this. Not quite sure why you went for an almost square crop... I'd have preferred the traditional dimensions. 8 |

Early Morning Seascape by jonpinkComment: This shot stood out straightaway in the thumbnails, and is just fantastic... wonderful composition, colours and PS work (or filters). Reminds me of a Joe Cornish (high praise). However, the quality lets this down a bit... it's been horribly oversharpened, look at the beach on the right below the cliffs... and there's artifacting everywhere. The edge of the cliffs shows bad haloing from sharpening. A huge shame. 8 |

Spring Flowersby trainComment: Beautiful assortment of colours, extremely well lit. The background at the top left of the frame doesn't quite work for me, and I feel that the composition doesn't really do this magnificent lighting justice. 8 |

Vickiby KonadorComment: Nice portrait, the earrings are wonderul and are the icing on the cake for me. You've captured her complexion really well... no-one can have a complexion that flawless, so you've done an amazing job of flattering her skin tone while keeping plenty of detail. The lighting is nice and smooth everywhere, and the hair is nicely backlit. The shallow dof is perfect. My only criticism is that I'm not that fond of her expression, she looks like she hasn't quite dropped her defenses enough. 8 |

Natural Womanby heidaComment: Wonderful model, lovely big eyes. The face seems a bit too Photoshopped though... the shadows around the face look as though too much dodging and burning has been carried out. Everything looks a bit too NeatImaged as well. The background to the right is a bit distracting... I think it would have worked better without the white patch. Great makeup and hair. The glossy lips are very effective. Black and white works well here. 8 |

The Ruinby e301Comment: Wonderful shot, nice PP. I love the mixtures of blues and greens. The soft-focus effect works really well here. Good composition, your subject has lots of character. 9 |

Gasolineby GringoComment: I love this shot... but I'm not really a fan of centered compositions. I can't help wishing you'd gone for something more imaginative. Everything else is perfect... the pastel colours, sharpness, subject matter, light, PS work, just superb. I wonder if you could have fixed the distortion from your wide angle (or the converging verticles from looking up slightly) which is evident by the signs at the top of the frame. 9 |

Vases Filled With Waterby GolferDDSComment: Love this shot, very high impact. I wish the lines were straighter and more level though. I think this will end up being one of my favourites this challenge. 9 |

hole 12, par 4by willemComment: Wow, thought it was snow at first. What a great application of IR... one of the best I've ever seen. The clouds and the tree are what make this shot so 'wow'. Love the scale of the golfer. Nice duotone, the blue really complements the effect. The background trees add a diagonal element, nice touch. Superb! 10 |
