Tender Aggressionby taterbugComment: This just isn't working for me. To me, it seems that the grain is not really doing anything for this image other than taking away detail. |

Hey Jewby OdedComment: Speaks volumes. I'm not even sure where to begin with a comment.
I'm not sure if this was staged, or you actually caught this boy being picked on for real, but it speaks more to me than most other images I have seen on DPC. I was raised Jewish and never got picked on for it, but I grew up in a largely Jewish area of Long Island. I was the kid that got picked on for everything else, however, and I have never forgotten the experience.
Since there is no vote of 20, I will have to give this a 10 and a fave. |

Cat and Basket (or the soul of raish ascending to heaven)by posthumousComment: At first glance this comes off as a snapshot and a quick 4, but the more I look at it, the more I realize that the components of this just work well together. Leads the eye nicely, interesting, but not overpowering textures, and good tonality on the b/w conversion. Actually it comes off to me similarly to my own recent "construction" entry, thought the subjects are totally different. |

flutterby KelliComment: The grain is very subtle here. I like the look, though. I'm wondering if this was done with Nik Silver Efex. |

fogby idpComment: I like the shot, though the grain comes off to me a bit more as chrominance noise than image enhancing grain. Not that it matters to me where the grain comes from, simply that it enhances the image. I popped this into my photo editor and it looked good with the same treatment I used with my own entry. |
