The harsh onboard flash is a problem, but I think under these circumstances, you didn't have anything else you could do. You captured this well for the conditions you were clearly shooting in.

There is a lack of sharpness and detail to this photo and I think most of it is due to the use of excessive JPEG compression. Your file size of only 10k indicates a highly compressed image and that is what is robbing a most of the clarity from this image. Check your compression settings when you save your file. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit.

This strikes me as a spur of the moment portrait. Love it! she's very pretty and the soft light is wonderful. My only nitpick is the bright light at the end of the walkway tends to draw my eye a bit. Still gets a high vote from me. In spite of that nitpick I find this to be a captivating portrait of a very pretty woman.
