I thought this might have been yours, but I wasn't certain enough to leave a guess. I agree with some of the other comments, in spite of traits that some could see as flaws, it successfully captures and conveys the impression of how cold the day is. Got a 7 from me for making me shiver.

I think the sub-4 average was a bit harder than this deserved, but that's how mass appeal works out sometimes. The photo got a 6 from me and he got a 10 from my daughter.

Well, I guessed wrong. After reading what you said in the score thread, I thought the shot of the grapes with the long-winded title was yours. At least you had the pleasure of receiving one of my infamous compression comments. It's good to only get one of those.

Reminds me of when I was in the AF, stationed in Germany and spent a couple of hours one night in a cherry picker, spraying de-icing fluid on a Starlifter. A cold, wet and unpleasant task.

Nice idea and a lot of potential in the pic, but it comes off very soft. Not sure if it is the focus that is off, or if you just lost some clarity when you re-sized. I think some basic adjustments like levels, curves, saturation, contrast and sharpening could really spiff this up quite a bit.

I'm afraid this is likely to come in toward the back end of the challenge. The depth of field is fairly shallow, and what is in focus comes off quite soft without a lot of detail and clarity. The cropping also seems a bit tight. My suggestion would be to get in closer to get some of the finer detail of the ice and "blood" in the pic. Shooting with a higher F-stop and not as much of an angle to the bowl would help to have more in focus.

Not. The real thing was made with cane sugar and came in a green glass bottle. (Am I dating myself with that observation?) Like the shot, however, effective lighting, colors and detail. Might be just a touch of tonemapping used to give it some pop. ("POP"... that's soft drink humor, get it? Ok, maybe it wasn't that funny after all.)

Very retro looking. Haven't seen this on store shelves in Texas yet, but we can get the Cokes from Mexico that are still made with cane sugar and come in those wonderful green glass bottles.
