I'm starting to recognize this young lady. This is going to be the entry from Kenskid. The can of oil does not quite fit with the rest of the portrait, and I think that incongruity is part of what I like about it.

It's a cool looking use of motion blur. I like it. I can see from the voting breakdown and comments that a lot of people really liked it, but (as is the fate on DPC of blur and abstract shots) a lot of people also disliked it. A successful entry in my book.

Focus seems to be on the background rather than the cow.

Ummm... I'm probably not the first commenter to say thins, but just in case, I will. A goat is not of the bovine family. I looked up what it does belong to and I can see where your error came in. The goat is a member of the Bovidae classification, which though sounding similar, is not the same thing as the Bovinae group

Wow, this has been quite educational! It seems that Bovidae is the parent group of which Bovinae is the sub-group that includes cows, yak, bison, etc. The Caprinae sub-group is what includes goats. Closely related.

As far as the image itself, there is some major haloing around some edges in the lower right. Looks to me like you may have been trying to selectively blur the background and the selection edges are showing. Normally, this image would get a 5 from me, as decent but nothing about it really stands out, but those harsh edges brings it down a notch to a 4, for a good try that has a major problem.

It took me a while to read enough to clarify it to myself, so in spite of what I said above, I think you deserve a high vote from me, for some extreme out of the box thinking on this, as well as for making me go research it.

Ouch. I'm afraid you are looking at a possible brown ribbon here. Sorry, but I'll at least give an honest comment. Lighting is harsh, with unflattering shadows against the wall, colors are very flat looking. The latter could be fixed with some common adjustments such as levels, curves, saturation, contrast & sharpening.

Interesting, but I am at odds on how to vote this one. I feel if I give it a high vote, that I am rewarding the talent of the mural artist rather than the photographer. I'm going to have to give it a big fat neutral vote, I'm afraid.
