Girl on Beachby lilnukeeComment: This seems a little soft on the detail and I see some artifacts near her legs, so I looked at the file size. There is some excessive JPEG compression taking away some detail. Your file size is only 54k and you could have used up to 300k for this challenge. Compression kills detail. Always use the least compression you can get away with and still come in under challenge limits. Most image editors have that ability to adjust compression somewhere in the file save dialog.
The shot itself does not not seem like an impromptu portrait to me. More like a snapshot or street photography. I'm afraid I have to give this my "good effort, but no cigar" vote. |

Mountie On Duty: One of Canada's Finestby J-MeComment: Tons of blocky compression artifacts are showing. Your file size is a bit on the small side, but does not fully account for compression artifacts this heavy. I wonder if you repeatedly opened and saved as a JPG a few times. That could induce the excessive compression artifacts. Always save in an uncompressed format, such as TIF, PSD, or PSPIMAGE until the final resize and save as JPG. Always adjust JPEG compression so that your file size is as large as possible, but within the challenge limit.
Overall, the image looks a bit flat as well, with blown highlights in the background. And the subject is not framed well, being cut off at the frame edge.
Sorry to be so harsh on it this early in voting, but I feel I should at least explain a low vote if I can identify the reasons for it. |

Jump boys....Jump!by JudiComment: Has the look of something planned, but in all likelihood, you lucked into some businessmen on break with a great sense of humor. |

Taking a Breakby meneleComment: The perspective seems a little awkward to me, as if it got squished slightly in post processing. |

Caught in the Crossfireby MeMex2Comment: I really like the creative way you have photographed him through the gun case. The treatment is coming off slightly flat to me, though. Due to the view through the glass, I'm sure. Certainly worth a positive vote from me. |

Julieby rooumComment: Makes me curious to know who she is and what her story may be. Looks like she could have been the pinup girl on the glass 40 or 50 years ago. |
