Cooling Offby phloverComment: Does not really fit my interpretation of "weathered". "Weather", yes. Due to the wording of the challenge description however, I have to consider any weather related images as appropriate. |

Benchby GeneralEComment: There's just nothing about this that gets my attention, I'm afraid. Comes off to me as just a snapshot with some harsh light (onboard flash?). |

A plane runs through itby techgeek360Comment: Originally posted by techgeek360: The image ended up with more 10 votes and was favorited then the winner so I am taking some consolation that this image was the best for this challenge in some people eyes which was a first for me since I've joined dp. |
Averages are just that, averages. Like yourself, I also gauge the success of an entry on many more factors than the average vote received. |

Trappedby elizadebComment: I saw one of these in a craft store the other day, and thought of doing this myself. I didn't buy it, however. |

oblate spheroidsby yianisnComment: I was debating how to vote on this one, as my first thought was that this is not a sphere. I looked it up on Wikepedia, and found this description as a subcategory of sphere:
A sphere can also be defined as the surface formed by rotating a circle about any diameter. If the circle is replaced by an ellipse, and rotated about the major axis, the shape becomes a prolate spheroid, rotated about the minor axis, an oblate spheroid.
In spite of a very good shot of the eye, I anticipate you are going to get creamed by folks who will not take the time to look it up. |

Lost My Marblesby Ice-Tea-1983Comment: Fits the challenge topic better than many of the other entries, but could use a little more visual oomph. I think some levels, curves, saturation and contrast could help it a bit. |
