Nice old bird! I saw an article where a B-17 crashed recently upon landing. I believe the crew were all ok, but what a shame. Not too many of these proud old birds flying anymore.

Looks like it could be a P-40 from the silhouette. There was a P-40 at an airshow I was at recently, but it didn't use a smoke device during its performance, so this must be elsewhere.

There is a lot of JPEG compression taking away the finer details in this shot. I see some blocky artifacts around the aircraft and the 19k file size also shows you used a lot of compression. One should always use the least amount of compression one can and still fit into the challenge limits.

Reminds me of a bicycle trip I took down the Mosel River in Germany back in the early 80's. We'd camped out overnight and in the morning were treated to a very similar scene as we headed off down the river.
