I agree with Annpatt, the re-edit is nicer, and I think it still totally qualifies as a silhouette. In fact, it is a little unique in that it has several separate silhouttes within the image: The skyline against the sunset, and the people in the water.

Lovely fade on the sunset to dark blue sky. I think if the subject could have been positioned a touch higher and the shrub cropped, it might have more impact.

I thought this was pretty good. Perhaps a little too much empty black space toward the bottom. Cropped a little more to the top might draw me to the subject more.

Responding to your post-mortem request more feedback on this:

I think the sunrise glow and the two small figures in the water are competing for attention here. The horizon is also right in the middle, and my view is not steered to either subject. All the details are on the left side of the image.

I'm going to go have a look at your other version that you said did not meet the challenge theme. (looks like you don't have it posted. I'd love to see it, if possible.)

I like the texture and the glint off the bottle. A little bare, maybe. My eye tends to go up toward the upper portion, rather than to the bottle and spill.
