Cold and Wetby SaraRComment: I really like the texture and colors. Only flaw may be that bright area up top that tends to draw my eye. |

Fur.by SpongetoastComment: Sorry, I'm afraid this entry is fairly lacking. I see a lot of visible blur, and some highlights on the left of the cat appear to be over-enhanced. The texture is just not going to show through this. Lighting (or lack of it) was almost surely the culprit here. |

"women and children first"by IndieapertureComment: I can tell you were doing like I was and shooting with both texture and perspective in mind. I like the way the timber leads up and toward the top, though it loses a lot of detail to DOF pretty quick. |

Gateway Arch: 886 Tons of Stainless Steelby camphanComment: Reminds me of the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The texture is visible, but does not strike me as the major component in this image. If the lighting were from a different direction it might have shown it off better. Perhaps if the shot were color, but I would have to see the color version to really know. |

Thawing Christmasby spencerwoodComment: Nice deep reds. Not a lot of composition you can do with a shot like this, but my eye is drawn to the still frosted one at the top right quarter. Good details showing, which is the point of texture. |

Chiostro maiolicato di Santa Chiaraby Rino63Comment: Lovely columns. Not a huge amount of perspective in this, but it still fits. The girl in the pink jacket seems out of place to me. I think that getting down low, and closer to the columns on one side would make for an impressive shot. |

From The Golf Holeby hammersamComment: I'm finding the composition on this to not work well for me. The out of focus pole is distracting and I find my eye divided between the flag and the tree as the subject. Parts of the tree are also in sharp focus while the flag is slightly blurry. |
