Petal Warmthby basssman7Comment: Great details in this. Soft and sharp as well. I suspect this was the sharpness from a good lens and good use of camera settings. I'll be checking back on this one for some details after the challenge. Oh, also an fave for this. |

Peek-A-Booby JEasonComment: Nice colorful blur. Seems to be maybe a little too much empty space on the left. |

Spring Warmthby kleskiComment: I'd like to know how you did this within basic rules. I can see what looks like selection edges, but it's been validated, so you did something else.
Lots of impact in this one, I like it. Biggest flaw I can see is the previously mentioned hard edges around the edges of the petals. |

Basking in Yellowby pollybarrowmanComment: Your file size is only 29k when you could have used up to 150k. This indicates a lot of JPEG compression, which is taking a lot of detail out of your photo. Look at the pixellation visible around some of the flowers edges and you will see what I am referring to. Check the JPEG compression settings in your image editor and always try to save as close to the limit for a challenge as you can get it without going over.
Also, the focus is a little off. the eye is drawn to a part of the flower that is not quite in focus. Having the flower in focus and the girl a little blurry may have worked better here. |

Guardsman's Jacketby ShugPugComment: The way in which his head is cut off from the frame seems odd and does not work for me. Perhaps a closer, detail view would have worked better. |

Connectionby SherwinJamesComment: Orange rust and sunset color glow. I like the details showing, though I may have cropped it a little closer myself. I find my eye is drawn up the rail, toward the out of focus area. Cropping a little off the top and placing the bolts a bit more to the right may help the visual flow better. Still a good one, in spite of my nitpicks. |

Flameby AlexbalixComment: Can't get much warmer than this. I wonder though, what would have happened if you'd entered a blue flame in this challenge? |

Dreamby MacroMakerComment: Meets the challenge, thought adjusting a monochrome color tone is not along the lines of what I was expecting. Still, to be fair, it's not like sunsets aren't heavily tweaked to present unnatural levels of orange.
Overall, this is pleasing, but I find the lighthouse to be way too far over to the right. I think a different crop was really in order here. |
