I really want to give this entry a good vote, but I can't. It's a great perspective and has wonderful lighting, plus it's got those score-raising dew droplets. Composition is great. However, the image is not taking advantage of either the 640 pixels or the 150K allowed for an entry and that takes away a lot of visual impact that it otherwise could have had. The black background also seems to not be the strong and impacting black something like this begs for.

A lot of high ISO noise is visible in this, and the subject is interesting, but does not stand out. Perhaps some noise reduction and some additional color tweaks could give it some pop.

The DOF here is indeed VERY shallow, but 90% of the subject falls within that shallow plane. Well done and I expect this to be in the top 20.

Not sure exactly what the title is referring to. I think your title may be part of how it fits the topic, but it went over my head. Decent enough, though the DOF is not quite shallow enough to create a strong blur.

It's an interesting view of this guy. I think he may be cropped with a little too much empty area at the top of the frame, and the bright area on his shoulder draws the eye away from his face.
