Yuck. Glad that's not my line of work. As far as the photo goes, it strikes me as an average snapshot. Not sure what to suggest on this. It's an interesting shot, actually, but I'm not sure you could do much with the lighting. Maybe a conversion to b/w? I've found that sometimes can help a shot that has bad lighting. Sorry to be so harsh on this effort.

I'm sorry, but this really does not look very good. Lots of low contrast grainy artifacts. Looks like it has been clipped out of it's background as well, which would be in violation of challenge rules. It suits the topic, however.

Oh, this is a tough one. I'm riding the line on whether this is a unique interpretation, or just a shoehorned shot. I think it only marginally fits. Yes, it needs "work" but I think the spirit of the challenge would have been better done if someone was shown working on it. Without the title, it says "boat" to me, not "work". I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt on my vote, and won't ding it. Very nice photo, however. Strong colors without being unrealistically enhanced.

Like the smoke and the way the light is playing off of it. Not fond of the composition, though. It's a little to heavy on the right for me and it leads me out of the frame.
